SJVAPCD Ag Burn Alternatives Grant Program

Our specific Orchard & Vineyard Removal process is a qualifier to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) Ag Burn Alternatives Grant Program to chip or shred (masticate) in lieu of agriculture open burning. Eligible growers can expect the following reimbursement rates:

  • Up to a $600 per acre reimbursement for orchards

  • Up to $800 per acre reimbursement for cane-pruned vineyards

  • Up to $1,300 per acre for cordon-pruned vineyards

  • An additional incentive of $400 per acre is provided for each incentive category to agricultural operations with 100 total acres or less within the San Joaquin Valley.

USDA Emergency Conservation Program (ECP)

The Emergency Conservation Program (ECP), administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA), provides emergency funding and technical assistance to farmers and ranchers to rehabilitate farmland and conservation structures damaged by natural disasters. Land eligibility includes commercial farming, ranching and orchard operations, grazing for commercial livestock production; conservation structures such as, waterways, terraces, diversions.

Arrowhead Ag’s services such as Storm Damage & Disaster Cleanup, Soil Erosion Control & Watershed Control, Orchard & Vineyard Removal – Post Flooding, Rangeland Perimeter Clearing, Defensible Space Clearing for Wildfires (to protect livestock, buildings, etc.) may be eligible for this emergency funding.

NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)

The NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers and non-industrial forest managers to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits such as improved water and air quality, conserved ground and surface water, increased soil health and reduced soil erosion and sedimentation, improved or created wildlife habitat, and mitigation against drought and increasing weather volatility.
