About Us

Arrowhead Agriculture is a proudly family-owned enterprise founded by Levi Gill and Hannah Gill. Our company’s mission is to first and foremost strive for customer satisfaction in everything we do, from our orchard removals down in the valley to our shaded fuel breaks high up in the mountains. Having homesteaded around 150 years ago in what is now known as the town of Exeter, our family has seen firsthand the sheer growth of California’s Agriculture and Forestry as a whole. Being the 5th generation working in the agriculture industry, we plan to keep the legacy alive through Arrowhead Agriculture.

What makes us unique?

Years back, we saw the efficiency and power of forestry equipment firsthand. This sparked an idea that these high-horsepower machines could thrive in the agriculture industry. We have spent years perfecting and customizing our masticators into something that has never been seen here in the Central Valley. We pride ourselves for pioneering a new way to remove orchards and vineyards by way of high-horsepower mastication.

  2. Superior Cutting Technology: Our masticator heads feature carbide steel cutting-teeth, ensuring superior biomass reduction. This technology delivers fast, efficient, and cost-effective clearing of trees and brush, optimizing productivity for our clients.

  3. Compliance and Reimbursement Opportunities: Rest assured, our Orchard Removal and Vineyard Removal process is both CARB-approved and qualifies for reimbursement through the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District's grant program. Eligible growers stand to receive reimbursement of up to $600 per acre for orchards, $800 for cane-pruned vineyards, and $1,300 for cordon-pruned vineyards, with an additional $100 per acre available for small growers.

FAQ

What is Mastication?

Mastication, also referred to as chipping, grinding, or mulching, encompasses the on-site chipping of entire trees, brush, or vines, including roots. Our equipment streamlines this process by seamlessly cutting, grinding, and clearing unwanted vegetation from your property in a single step. The result is a fine mulch that is not only nutrient-rich but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of your land, making it both operational and visually pleasing.

By utilizing Carbide Blades instead of conventional steel, we achieve unparalleled efficiency in cutting, grinding, and land clearance, ensuring optimal outcomes for our clients.

What is Orchard Recycling?

Orchard Recycling involves the on-site chipping and sub-soiling of entire trees or vines, including roots, usually performed at the conclusion of their agronomic life cycle and before replanting. This process has been shown to significantly enhance productivity in subsequent replanted orchards and soils. Additionally, it contributes to carbon sequestration, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, improves soil structure, and enhances water use efficiency, resulting in sustainable agricultural practices with positive environmental impacts.
